Todd Friedman is the Senior Vice President of Technology at the Meriwether Group. He strongly believes in two trends that are changing the world of technology venture investing: the cost to build a business is rapidly declining, and the value of intangibles like brand, industrial design, and user experience are becoming at least as important as product features and specs. Todd spends his time working with consumer-focused technology companies that are capitalizing on these trends.

Prior to joining the Meriwether Group, Todd spent 10 years at Intel Corporation. Most recently, he was responsible for a $150M purchasing operation, supporting Intel's worldwide factory network and working closely with partner companies to achieve technical, cost, and quality goals. Before that, he held various positions, including responsibility for worldwide purchasing and contracting of over $700M in yearly spending, rapid development and commercialization of new technologies, investments through Intel Capital to accelerate technology readiness, and product and quality engineering.  Todd has extensive experience in business strategy, negotiations, manufacturing, operations, supply chain management, quality, and intellectual property. He has also worked closely with partner companies in Asia to launch new technologies and previously lived in Japan.

Todd has a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of California, Berekely, and a B.S. in Chemistry with Japanese minor from Penn State University.
